Abstract

It is well documented that belonging in a STEM community can improve student engagement and persistence. This study examines the aggregated data from several interventions across multiple college campuses designed to improve STEM students’ sense of belonging. Similar survey data were combined to determine the impact of First2 Network campus club participation and faculty-student engagement events on STEM students’ self-reported feelings of belonging. Variables including students’ year in school and levels of engagement were examined.
